The C3 IGNITE program began in 2016 as a program that schools could apply for to receive T-Mobile enabled devices to bridge the equity gap in Catholic schools. When devices were initially rolled out in schools, several issues were highlighted and one of the biggest being that training was not available for both technical and educational needs. To solve this challenge, ADLA partnered with EdTechTeam (**Designed for Learning is currently carrying out all C3 IGNITE work as EdTechTeam's custom professional implementation partner.**) who would provide professional development to enhance meaningful teacher and student technology use while focusing on key education objectives set by the Department of Catholic Schools. As of 2021, over 165 schools have been supported through this program in the rollout of iPads and utilizing this technology in high impact ways in the classroom.
Designed for Learning is providing Professional Development for all C3 IGNITE schools through high touch support with a dedicated Project Manager and a team of expert trainers. This includes support for the principal and up to 25 teachers at each site. Every training is fully customized and designed to meet the needs of all participants. Before the customized training is designed and delivered, a self-assessment skills survey is used to understand the needs of all participants and a planning meeting with the school site principal takes place. In addition, each training makes connections to existing Archdiocese initiatives such as Core Instructional Practices (CIP) and target learning that supports the student population being served. Some of the topics that are focused on throughout the professional development are iPad Essentials, Classroom Management in the Digital Age, Digital Citizenship, Productivity, Multimedia Applications, Formative Assessment and iPads.
